Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for praying for us. We sense God’s blessings in our lives as we live and minister here in Texas . We are grateful for your part in it.
Our daughter, Bonnie, broke her ankle as many of you know and she is getting along just fine. It is frustrating that she won't be able to walk for awhile because her family just moved into a house God gave them in a “short sale.”
Lois continues in the ministries she’s had in mentoring, leading the Ladies’ Fellowship, teaching Sunday school and teaching two grandchildren.
We still have our home up for sale hoping to move to New Braunfels , where our church and family are located. Please pray we can sell the house soon. Three people have looked at it and all three wanted it but loans are hard to get these days.
Shingles? Yes, but shortly dealt with and gone. After a visit to the dermatologist, Roger learned about a new basal cell carcinoma on his nose. Not encouraging news as he is uncomfortable with the "C" word. After some minor body sculpting, the doctor said, "Watch for any new growth and come back in three months." He knows where eternity will be spent, so why worry? None of us know how or when we will check out of here.
Roger is teaching the Wednesday night Bible study, has several men in discipleship materials, and continues in the jail ministry. Each day brings new joys as he shares with men who are very aware that they are needy. Hays County Law Enforcement Center is a maximum security facility. It holds the worst to the least of offenders of our legal system waiting sometimes over a year to have their case come to trial. Many in the fluctuating audience return weekly while others are transferred to another tank or leave.
It has been a delight to see grown men confess Christ as Savior, to hear men through repentant tears share their testimonies, to join hearts in prayer, and to see evidence of changed lives. One such man was a highly decorated military officer whose career spanned several re-enlistments. His heart was changed by the Holy Spirit as his life showed a repentance only the Lord could bring. Another who never knew his parents began to learn how to trust the Lord in everything. Many others have said, “I am glad the Lord brought me here. I know He is teaching me many things.”
Our prayer life over the years has deepened so we would like to keep in touch with you so we can pray for you. Please write us your needs and we will be thrilled to have a part in your life.
Trusting in Him,
Roger and Lois
